Konsekvens | Mulig risiko for blodtrykksfall ved samtidig inntak av alkohol (vist i noen studier, ikke i andre). Jevnlig bruk av alkohol over tid kan føre til økt blodtrykk og motvirke den antihypertensive effekten av betablokkere. |
Mekanisme | Additive farmakodynamiske vasodilatatoriske effekter ved enkeltinntak av alkohol. I tillegg er alkohol vist å øke konsentrasjonen av noen betablokkere (tydeligst vist for propranolol). Kronisk inntak av alkohol kan øke blodtrykket, mest trolig via økte nivåer av glukokortikoider og mineralokortikoider. |
